The List

The curse when you develop an interest in self-improvement and personal productivity is that sometimes it is hard to just do things for no reason. Particularly if said stuff wasn’t on your list of things to do today.

It gets worse if you aren’t even sure if your list is fully optimised based on whatever is the latest productivity thing you are into, whether it be GTD, Atomic Habits, The One Thing, or anything from Cal Newport or Tim Ferriss.

Worse still is when you face an interruption. The immediate responses is one of frustration, even anger at the intrusion. How dare someone interrupt my list execution time! The horror!

Unfortunately, the thing that interrupts is this thing called life, the very thing you were trying to optimise for.

It doesn’t particularly care if you have a list or not. It will happen to you regardless.
